Spain and Portugal

(14 days)  June 20-July 3, 2022

We begin in Spain's liveliest city, Barcelona, then visit Cava sparkling wine country and the amazing mountains of Priorat, before taking a day of respite in the gourmet capital of Spain, San Sebastian, with a three-star Michelin dinner.  Then on to Spain’s famous wine regions of Rioja and Ribera del Duero, with a break to visit Europe’s most interesting active archaeological dig.  We conclude our Spain visit with time in Madrid for art, culture, and flamenco, then move to Portugal for three days that include visits to port houses, a boat trip on the spectacularly beautiful Douro River, and a tour of the world’s largest cork factory.

Covid-19 note: All participants on Exploring Wine trips in 2022 must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 in advance of enrollment (including those who may have recovered from the disease).  All countries we will visit on our trips are expected to welcome only vaccinated tourists.
